Roy Carl Staples was born October 31, 1960 to Roy Staples and Annie Howell,  He's the sixth of ten sob;ings.  Roy grew to love music.  He often played with his moms pots and pans as if they were percussions.  Roy attended Walter H. Dyette Middle School and DuSable High School, Roy started playing in concerts and jazz bands, he also read and played music to bass tubas.  Roy played percussions and congos in the jazz bands.

As  a teenager, Roy loved music and decided to become a DJ.  He started out playing music for small events like wedding receptions adn birthday parties.  DJ Choke liked playing in the band as well as DL.  He bagan traveling where he often DJ's for big events as well as opening up for different artist like Denise LaSalle, Latimore, Bobby Rush and Garland Green and other various national acts.

DJ Choke worked hard to make his DJ career a success.  Not only is DJ Choke part of Intense City, he's one of the finesst DJ's in chicago today.  DJ Choke is an on air personality on WATC Internet Radio.  Log into iwannabeastartoo.com.
